The Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology opened on July 1, 1996 as part of President Sidney Ribeau's Community Building Initiative.

Although the name has changed to The Center for Teaching and Learning, since its inception, the Center has worked to develop and distribute relevant information about teaching and learning, and to serve as a collaboration network for BGSU teaching scholars.
