A Message from the President
It’s been an exciting fall semester! From our success in enrollment to our recognition in national rankings, this great University continues to excel. Earlier this week, The Wall Street Journal and Times Higher Education ranked BGSU No. 1 for student engagement. This recognition highlights our commitment to student success.

Emily Suver and her family were chosen as the 2016 Falcon Family of the Year. Her inspirational story of hard work and determination are hallmarks of our great students at BGSU. We are fortunate to have Emily as a student, and are so proud of everything she has accomplished.

The sound of the Falcon Marching Band is unmistakable. This year, members of the Falcon Marching Band made a surprise visit to Campus Fest – an annual fair of 300 student organizations, community partners and University offices – with a flash mob and performed “Ay Ziggy Zoomba.”

BGSU has more than 176,000 living alumni. Each is a great representative of the Falcon Family. Whether you graduated last semester or are a Golden Falcon, BGSU is so proud of you, and will always be your home. Take a moment and update us with our new “brag board.”

Political science faculty members teamed up to produce “Battleground Ohio,” a podcast series focused on the 2016 election cycle.

It’s Homecoming! I hope you have the opportunity to return to campus to celebrate BGSU this weekend. Our schedule is filled with special events and activities for all members of the Falcon Family. Tomorrow, the football team kicks off at 3 p.m., and we look forward to celebrating 50 years at the Doyt L. Perry Stadium. Not everyone can attend Homecoming, so be sure to share your Falcon spirit via social media using #BGFalconPride!

Regards,

Mary Ellen Mazey, Ph.D.
President
