A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Summertime is great in BG as planning continues for the new class of students to join the Falcon Family this fall!

Brooke Pleger
Brooke Pleger '15, a recent nursing graduate, completed an amazing career competing for the women's track and field team. The first female, three-time All-American for BGSU, she finished third at the NCAA Division l Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in the hammer throw. Recognized for her multiple school records, national rankings and Mid-American Conference accomplishments, Pleger has been nominated for the 2015 NCAA Woman of the Year Award! The BG family is so proud of all that she has achieved.

Dr. Radhika Gajjala
Dr. Radhika Gajjala, faculty member in the School of Media and Communication, will be in Norway for a year as a Fulbright visiting professor at the University of Bergen. More than 150 countries currently participate in the Fulbright program. This international academic and cultural exchange showcases this University's impact around the globe.

Through personal and professional experiences, Michael Hoskins '77 knows the importance of a global education and has traveled to more than 100 other nations. He now wants to provide that opportunity to BGSU students. Because of his most recent gift, students will study and conduct research abroad annually. The next group of students is set to travel this year to Austria, Wales and India.

Football season begins in September, and the University is hosting a Sept. 4-6 excursion to our game against the University of Tennessee. The game will be played at LP Field, home of the NFL's Tennessee Titans. Join us for an exciting weekend filled with BGSU football and everything that Nashville has to offer! Reserve your spot today.

BGSU Homecoming 2015
With fall semester two months away, plan to join us for Falcon Family Weekend on September 18-20 and Homecoming on October 16-18! Event schedules and details are taking shape, and the information will be continually updated.

Falcon hockey continues to be a special connection for students, alumni and the BG community. Congratulations to former hockey player Dan Bylsma '92, new head coach for the Buffalo Sabres! This month, WalletHub ranked Bowling Green 18th among the best cities for hockey fans. Andrew Hammond '14 was a finalist for the NHL's 2014-15 Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy. The schedule for the upcoming season has been released, and BGSU looks forward to more success with Head Coach Chris Bergeron as he leads the program for an additional five years, through his recently signed contract extension.

Richaun Holmes
This month was special for three student-athletes pursuing their dreams to compete professionally. Richaun Holmes was selected 37th in the NBA draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. Special recognition also went to two BGSU baseball players. Trey Keegan was selected in the 14th round of the MLB draft by the Atlanta Braves. His teammate Brian Bien was selected in the 31st round by the Kansas City Royals.

BGSU has more than 175,000 alumni around the world. When Megan Koons '04 moved to Denver this past year, she wanted to stay involved with BGSU. Read her story about how she connected Colorado alumni with their alma mater.

BGSU recently created a new, online giving portal for alumni and friends, designed to allow users to be more engaged. Make a difference today!

Tomorrow marks four full years that I have been president at Bowling Green State University. Every day, I'm thankful and honored to serve this great University because of people like you. There is always more work to be done; join me in making BGSU better for the future.

Regards,

Mary Ellen Mazey, Ph.D.
