BGSU Aviation has one of the most modern and well maintained fleet in the region for your flight education needs. We currently have nine aircraft that are continually cared for by our own fleet maintenance department. Additionally, we understand how important it is to have modern equipment for our students to utilize. You won’t see any aircraft from the 1970s, 1980s, or 1990s here. The oldest aircraft in our fleet is a 2001 Cessna Skyhawk and BGSU Aviation currently has plans to begin replacing our fleet with newer equipment within the next couple of years.
The Cessna Skyhawk is the world’s most popular aircraft. With more than 43,000 aircraft with several model variants delivered, the Skyhawk is the best-selling, most-flown plane ever built. It also enjoys a distinguished reputation as the safest general aviation aircraft available. The Skyhawk is a top performer, showcasing the agility, stability, and durable strength that Cessna is famous for. This aircraft is utilized for private pilot, instrument, and certified flight instructor training. BGSU Aviation currently owns six Cessna Skyhawks.
The Arrow offers an ideal classroom in the sky for complex, single engine training. Thousands are in service around the world, so our choice of the Piper Arrow for your training needs is a wise one. This aircraft is primarily used for commercial flight training. BGSU Aviation currently owns two Piper Arrows; one having a traditional steam gauge cockpit, the other having a glass cockpit.
The Piper Seminole has proven itself in over 20 years of service and hundreds of thousands of hours in flight school environments around the world. Our students admire the airplane for its ability to teach advanced flight training maneuvers and procedures. Our instructors appreciate the Piper Seminole's ability to teach these lessons in a safe and forgiving manner. The Piper Seminole is established as one of the best advanced multiengine trainers available today. BGSU Aviation currently has one Piper Seminole.
Our FRASCA simulator is a prime environment for our students to put to use emergency procedures, instrument flight training, and allows us to continue flight training if the weather is keeping us from going up in the real thing. BGSU Aviation currently owns one FRASCA simulator and is utilized for private pilot, instrument, and commercial flight training.
