Tenure Track Assistant/Associate Professor, Department of Engineering Technology

 

General Description

The Department of Engineering Technology (DET) seeks a tenure track, assistant or associate professor to teach, conduct applied research and be of service primarily in Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology (EMET); but with strong relationships to Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET); and Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology (ECET). DET faculty are making preparations for ETAC-ABET accreditation in EMET.

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Teach/develop undergraduate and graduate EMET, MET/ECET-related courses and curriculum, recruit and advise undergraduate and graduate students, support accreditation activities, and other academic duties as needed/assigned.
  • Grow applied research and scholarly activities, including developing collaborations with industrial partners and others toward securing external grants and support.

 

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in an Engineering discipline related to EMET.
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • Demonstrated record of/for effective teaching.
  • Applied research and/or industrial experience is a plus, particularly in key future EMET areas anticipated to be robotics/automation and energy/sustainability.
  • Candidates who are ABD will be considered.

 

Salary and Position

Salary is competitive, commensurate with rank/position, based on candidate experience and credentials. Position is academic year (nine months), with possible summer teaching and applied research opportunities, and benefits are included.

 

Effective Date of Employment/Closing Date
