| Welcome to the Department of Engineering Technologies (DET) at BGSU! Like all of BGSU, DET engages, challenges and prepares you for a meaningful future. We offer several innovative graduate and undergraduate academic programs, each with a dynamic mix of “life transforming” learning opportunities, all supportive to our primary mission of serving students. Undergraduate programs/majors are Aviation Studies, Electronics and Computer Technology, Electro Mechanical Technology, Engineering Technology, Quality Systems and Technology Management at the graduate level. |
| Our graduates achieve a strong professional preparation for various high-demand careers. Our programs are based on "hands-on", technical, managerial and problem solving elements which differentiate us in positive ways from traditional engineering programs as well as two year associate degree preparation. Our “applied research” orientation, with solid mathematics and science underpinnings makes us one of the most well rounded STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) departments at BGSU. |
| We have a strong tradition of being accredited by the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE). Several programs are also exploring TAC-ABET accreditation for the future. You will note that our faculty are each experts in their disciplines, staying current in their fields by conducting scholarly research and engaging in professional activities--frequently with students. |
