Description VCT is an innovative program for students who are interested in creative and technical problem solving. VCT majors use print, photography, video, and interactive media as problem-solving tools in a variety of work settings. This major also offers a combination of theory and hands-on practice, including the opportunity to work with personable faculty who are leaders in using and teaching emerging technologies. You'll receive four years of specialized training in critical thinking and creative visualization techniques while you learn the necessary technical skills to become an attractive prospect for businesses anywhere in the country. Structure, aesthetics and self-reliance are taught by instructors whose teaching is supplemented by real-world experience. The Digital Arts program focuses on creative expression using digital technology. Students are encouraged to investigate aesthetic and perceptual possibilities as they engage in alternative art discourses. A Digital Arts major will engage in the study of the following areas: 3d modeling and rendering, 3d computer animation, 2d computer animation, interactive multimedia, digital painting/drawing, digital imaging, digital video, and more.

Students will take classes in the all four areas including print, photography, video, and interactive media, but will end up focusing on one area later in the program. none Students can focus in computer animation, digital imaging, or interactive media.
Possible Career Paths Print-print designer, media coordinator, print buyer, advertising coordinator.
Photography- digital, studio, or commercial photographer, studio manager, digital lab manager.
Video-videographer, video technician, video producer, video editor.
Interactive Media- web master, graphic web designer, java developer, e-commerce web design.
Graphic designers, art directors and communications specialists in a wide variety of related fields. Computer animators, digital artists and special effects artists, 3d modelers for industrial design businesses, animators and digital artists for interactive game companies, visualization for training, medical and industrial companies, and as World Wide Web developers.
