Completion of this workshop is required in order to register for your first co-op, TECH 289. Our office will be checking your records to ensure that you have completed this prerequisite. You only need to complete this requirement once, however, you can visit the online workshop as many times as you like, using it as a great reference tool.

You must have either speakers or a headset to listen to the information given throughout the workshop sections.

TO COMPLETE THE WORKSHOP

1. Log on to your MyBGSU account.
2. Click on the "Community" tab at the top of the screen.
3. Under your "Organization List", you will see the link for our online workshop labeled "College of Technology Online Co-op Workshop".
4. Click this link to begin the workshop.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

A welcome video will play and instructions are provided below the video to complete the workshop.
Our office will be checking weekly to see who has completed the workshop.

Once you have completed the workshop, our office will authorize you to apply/register for your first co-op (TECH 289).

TROUBLESHOOTING

The workshop is always working and is not "down".  You may be experiencing difficulties because of the computer you are using.  Solutions are listed below...

• Do you have the right internet browser?  In order for the workshop slides to operate effectively, you should have Internet Explorer, Version 6 or lower AND Macromedia Flash installed on your computer.
• Do you have Flash™?  You can go to http://www.macromedia.com and click on the "Download Flash Player" link to install Flash. This is a free service.
• Still being blocked?  Be sure you have all pop-up blockers turned off.
• Only seeing a grey screen?  
  • If you are using Internet Explorer 7, there are current issues Microsoft is working on.  These issues prevent the workshop from opening correctly.  To work around this, do one of the following:
    • View the workshop using a Mac.
    • View the workshop using a PC which has IE v.6 or lower.
    • View the workshop using a PC with the Firefox internet browser.
• Too secure?  If the presentations are not opening, it may because your security settings are set too high on your internet browser. Lower these settings and the presentations should work.
• One big happy family...  The co-op workshop uses flash, XML, HTML, and ActionScript which all have to communicate with the web browser. Because of the programming, some older computers/web browsers may not be able to run the program perfectly. We know that it operates correctly on Windows machines with the standard IE 6.0 or above and MAC machines running IE 6.0 or lower.
