• The aviation
education and training facilities are located
on the University-owned airport, adjacent to the
BGSU campus and only a 5-minute walk from most
residence halls.
• Students in the Flight Technology and
Operations specialization are trained on the Cessna
172, the Piper Arrow and Seminole. Specifically,
the current inventory includes:
• 6 Cessna 172s
• 2001 and newer models
(fuel-injected with Garman GPS navigation units)
• 2 Piper Arrows, one
with glass cockpit, Garmin 430 GPS; complex aircraft
trainer
• Piper Seminole 2 Garmin 430
GPS; twin trainer
• State of the art "glass"
and traditional instrument simulators |

• Two active student organizations, Alpha
Eta Rho and Women Aviators, provide the opportunity
for students to combine their professional and
personal interests.
• The staff includes professional
faculty and instructor pilots with broad aviation
experiences, as well as the program’s own
mechanic, who maintains the fleet on-site. |

• Special on-campus housing in McDonald
Residence Hall is available for aviation students.
Students who choose to live in aviation housing
generally earn higher grades as freshmen than
their peers who live elsewhere.
• The intensive ground training and four-season,
all-weather, flight instruction has produced a
history of excellent ratings from FAA examiners. |
