Creative Arts Program

Private Music Instruction

Specific lesson times and days are scheduled with the individual instructor. Private instruction is offered in the following areas: voice, violin, viola, cello, flute, trombone, percussion, steel drums, piano and guitar. Other areas may be available upon special request. Voice students must be at least 13 years old. It is the student’s responsibility to provide their own instrument and lesson books for private lessons.

 

Professional Artists

Professional artists have a master’s degree or equivalent in music and have extensive teaching and performing experience. Current professional artist faculty include Nina Assimakopoulos (flute), Cynthia Benson (piano), Tina Bunce (voice), Elaine Colprit (cello), Micah Graber (voice), Dana Mader (violin), Marlayna Maynard (voice), Mary Natvig (violin), Douglas Neel (trombone/guitar), Robert Satterlee (piano), Bryan Stanbridge (percussion/steel drums), Marina Steffan (piano), Cristina Vlad (piano) and Douglas Wayland (voice)

 

Student Artists

Student artists are BGSU College of Musical Arts’ students pursuing their bachelor’s or master’s degree, and have prior teaching and performing experience before becoming a member of our teaching staff. Student artist instructors vary by term.

 

Teachers

Interested in teaching for the Creative Arts Program? Download a Creative Arts Program Teacher Profile, submit it to the appropriate area coordinator (found within the file) for approval, and return to the Creative Arts Program coordinator.

 

Recitals

Recitals for students in the Creative Arts Program are generally scheduled once a semester.
