BGSU Double Reed Day Oboe and Bassoon Solo Competition

Open to bassoonists and oboists of all ages and abilities. Music Educators are welcome to attend.
Everyone should bring their instrument, reed-making equipment and repertoire if performing in a master class.

Directions
The Moore Musical Arts Center is located on the northeastern side of campus, on the corner of Ridge and Willard Streets.
From Interstate 75, take Exit 181 to Bowling Green. Go west on Wooster Street, turn right on Mercer, turn left onto Merry, and then left into the first parking lot on the left.
Competition
Qualifications:
Competitors must be of the following ages:
High School: 15-18 (still in HS)
College: ages 18 (already graduated HS)-22
Repertoire may be from any work for oboe or bassoon with piano accompaniment.
Competitors must submit an unedited CD or DVD recording of themselves performing with accompaniment (maximum 10 minutes). The work performed at the competition must be the same as on the audition CD/DVD.
Label disks with performer's name, phone number, email address, composer name, and piece title.
Recordings must be postmarked by December 1, 2012 to be considered, and should be mailed to:

A maximum of 5 competitors will be accepted from the CD round for each age category. All entrants will be notified by email of acceptance in the competition no later than December 15th, 2012.
In the event of acceptance in the competition, competitors may provide their own pianist or request an accompanist through BGSU for a fee of $15 to be paid upon check-in at Double Reed Day. A copy of the piano accompaniment music must be sent with the audition CD if requesting a BGSU pianist.
Note: All works must be performed at the competition with piano.
For each category (age group), a 1st prize, 2nd prize, and Honorable mention will be awarded.
1st Prizes: $75 gift certificate to TrevCo-Varner Music and Certificate of Participation
2nd Prizes: $50 gift certificate to TrevCo-Varner Music and Certificate of Participation
Honorable mention: Certificate of Participation
