Bryan Stanbridge
M.M., Bowling Green State University
Adjunct Instructor (steel drums)
Bryan Stanbridge Bachelor’s degree in percussion performance from Eastern Michigan University; master’s degrees in composition and percussion performance from BGSU; founder and artistic director of the Purple Frog Players, a contemporary music ensemble; performs with the Stanbridge Steel Trio; former principal percussionist with Detroit Symphony Civic Orchestra; performed with Dearborn, Firelands, Lima and Perrysburg symphonies and Ann Arbor Concert Band; former member of Rio Legacy and Gratitude steel bands; often plays marimba and tenor pan with Lima Marimba Ensemble; director of percussion at Edsel Ford High School (Dearborn, Mich.); presents master classes and recitals at high schools throughout northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan; endorses Planet Marimba marimbas and Pro-Mark sticks and mallets; former teachers include Burton Beerman, John Dorsey, Anthony Iannaccone, Elainie Lillios, Roger Schupp and Marilyn Shrude.
Tammy Metz Starr

Tammy Metz Starr Investigates modern dance and Asian movement forms (Korean dance and drumming, Tai Chi, Balinese Dance, Butoh, and Taiko drumming) to inform the textures of her performance, choreography, and teaching; independent artist and former member of the Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, SB Dance, and Iona Pear Dance Theatre; performed and taught in national and international venues since 1998; received recognition for both performance and choreography of solo works created in collaboration with writers, composers, and visual artists and presented in galleries, roaming events, and traditional concert venues; accolades in dance include an Individual Excellence Award for choreography (2008) and apprenticeship support in Korean da nce from the Traditional Arts Program (2006), both from the Ohio Arts Council; recognized by the Hawaii State Dance Council, Cori Terry/Wellspring’s Dance Forum, The Salt Lake City Tribune, OhioDance, Columbus Movement Movement, ArtsUnlimited of Bowling Green, the National Dance Association, and the American College Dance Festival Association; holds an M.F.A. degree in dance from the University of Hawai`i at Manoa, and a B.S. degree in mathematics education from Kent State University; taught at BGSU since 2000, primarily in the Dance Program of the School of HMSLS, and regularly collaborates with Kusuma Sari Gamelan and the Hayabusa Taiko ensemble of the College of Musical Arts.
