Dr. Nicole Biggs

Dr. Biggs, NCTM, coordinates the group piano program and teaches group piano and piano pedagogy. She performed her Carnegie Hall debut in the Weill Recital Hall in 2006, and has since performed in China, Italy, England, Austria and the United States. A winner in several international piano competitions including the Bradshaw and Buono and IBLA Grand Prize, she won the 2010 Oklahoma Israel Exchange Young Artist Competition and will consequently perform a concert tour throughout Israel in October 2011. Her solo piano recording, Lyricality, is available on iTunes and amazon.com. Dr. Biggs is a recipient of the Yamaha In-Residence Fellowship. Her education includes a doctor of musical arts degree from the University of Oklahoma in piano performance and pedagogy, a master’s degree in piano performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and a bachelor of music degree in piano performance from University of North Texas. Her principle teachers include Jeongwon Ham, Antonio Pompa-Baldi, James Giles, and Steve Harlos. She is the artistic director of Celebrating Children, a non-profit organization supporting children in the arts internationally. She has published in journals such as the Piano Pedagogy Forum, American Music Teacher, the CMS Newsletter, and has presented at CMS conferences, MTNA conferences, and the Seminar for Piano Teachers.
