Music Alumni ListProcessor Information

To facilitate communication between and among College of Musical Arts students, alumni and faculty, four email discussion lists are now available:

INSTRUMENTALMUSIC

A discussion list for band and orchestra directors, and instrumentalists.

VOCALMUSIC

A discussion list for choir directors and vocalists.

GENERALMUSIC

A discussion list for elementary/general music teachers.

MUSICALUMNI

A general announcement and discussion list for all College of Musical Arts alumni.

For those of you unfamiliar with the system, listprocs automate mailing lists specifically designed for the discussion of a particular topic or subject through your email server. When you post a message on a listproc, it automatically sends that message to each subscriber.

Our goal is to carry on educational and instructional conversation about our respective fields. As you interact with our current students or recent graduates, we hope to create a community of professionals helping other professionals.

TO SUBSCRIBE

Send an email message to listproc@listproc.bgsu.edu. Leave the subject line blank and include no attachments. In the body of your email message write:

subscribe MUSICALUMNI [type your name here, no brackets]

You can subscribe to the other College of Musical Arts listprocessors in the same way, just use the respective list name: INSTRUMENTALMUSIC or VOCALMUSIC. Be sure to type your name after the list name with no brackets.

Note—Do not send any attachments or subject text when you subscribe. Also, delete any identifiers that may automatically attach to your email messages.

You should receive a message from the lisproc server that you have successfully been added to the list, and you are now included as a listproc subscriber. You are now able to post and receive messages from the discussion list.

TO SEND MAIL TO A LIST:

Sending email to the list is as easy as sending a message to MUSICALUMNI@listproc.bgsu.edu. Your message will be sent to everyone on the list.

You can send messages to the other discussion lists by substituting INSTRUMENTALMUSIC or VOCALMUSIC in the above email address.

TO UNSUBSCRIBE

To permanently discontinue receiving listproc messages, send an email to listproc@listproc.bgsu.edu. Leave the subject line blank and include no attachments. In the body of your email include the line:

unsubscribe MUSICALUMNI [type your name]

OR, unsubscribe VOCALMUSIC [type your Name], etc. Just include the correct name of the list you are leaving.

You can receive help from the listproc by writing to: listproc@listproc.bgsu.edu and send the message text, HELP.
