Stacy Bordon, master’s student from Ft. Wayne, Ind. (Elainie Lillios), had a performance of 12 Wings presented at the Society for ElectroAcoustic Music in the United States (SEAMUS) National Conference in Salt Lake City on April 3–5, 2008.

Joel Diegert, master’s candidate from Vestal, N.Y. (John Sampen), was a semifinalist in the Second International Jean-Marie Londeix Saxophone Competition in Thailand in January 2008.

Shane Hoose, master’s candidate from North Elwood, Ind. (Burton Beerman), won second prize in the Ohio Federation of Music Clubs Competition for his saxophone quartet Differences in April 2008.

Daniel Knaggs, master’s candidate from Jackson, Mich. (Andrea Reinkemeyer), had a premiere of Three Nature Songs at Roulette in SoHo in New York City on May 24. The songs were premiered by the Xanthos Ensemble, which is in residence at the Boston Conservatory.

Octavio Más-Arocas, doctoral candidate from Spain (Emily Freeman Brown), was accepted into the conducting fellowship program at the Aspen Music Festival for summer 08.

Sean Patayanikorn, master’s candidate from Edmonton, Alberta (John Sampen), won fourth place in the Second International Jean-Marie Londeix Saxophone Competition in Thailand in January 2008.
