The 29th Annual New Music Festival features three days of concerts, presentations and special events built around the music of Pulitzer Prize-winner John Harbison and more than 20 other guest composers. Guest performers include the ensembles Flexible Music and the Eastman Triana, pianist Stephen Drury and percussionist Stuart Gerber. Highlights include the North American premiere of Luciano Berio’s Recit (Chemins VII) for alto saxophone and orchestra, an all-Stockhausen program showcasing a rare performance of Kontakte for piano, percussion and electronic sounds, an evening of electroacoustic and multimedia works and a special component celebrating Elliott Carter’s 100th birthday. Visit the festival’s Web site for updated schedules and events.

The Center’s Music at the Forefront concert series continues with two concerts in the fall featuring the ensemble Hic et Nunc (Vincent Daoud, saxophone, and Yuji Noguchi, clarinet, Oct. 13) and flutist Claire Chase (Nov. 17). All Music at the Forefront concerts are held in Bryan Recital Hall at 8 p.m.
