The Annual New Music & Art Festival has traditionally brought musicians and artists from across the nation to Bowling Green for a celebration of current art and music. The featured guests at this year's festival are composer Anthony Davis and the Bang on a Can All-Stars. In addition, this year the festival's horizons will broaden with the inclusion of film and poetry. Concerts, lectures, exhibitions, performances, reading and paper presentations fill the festival days with an exciting array of opportunities. Organized by the directors of the Bowling Green State University Fine Arts Center Galleries and the MidAmerican Cneter for Contemporary Music, Jacqueline Nathan and Marilyn Shrude, the Festival supports the creation of new work and engages both the University and city communities in the process of art appreciation and awareness. Assisting with other events for Festival 19 are Ellen Berry, chair of the English department, and Laura Podalsky, assistant professor of romance languages. The majority of events are accessible, free, and open to the public. The exhibit was organized by the Ineri and Orange Show Foundations of Houston and will be on display in the Dorthoy Uber Bryan Gallery of the Fine Arts Center.
