Password/PINs are used by University Libraries to ensure the privacy of our patrons' library accounts. Patrons create their
own Password/PINs, which are encrypted in our system to further ensure privacy.
Prompts for Password/PINs will occur when checking My Library Account, renewing books, and authenticating for off-campus access to library resources.
To create a Password/PIN:
- Log into My Library Account.
- After entering your name and P number, leave the Password/PIN field blank and click on the 'Submit' button.
- A message will be on the next page: 'Please enter a new PIN.'
- Create your Password/PIN in the first field.
- Password/PINs must be 6 to 8 characters, and must be a combination of letters and numbers.
- Retype your Password/PIN in the second field.
IMPORTANT: When creating a Password/PIN for the first time, you must log out of your library account before attempting to access library
resources from off-campus.
If you're unsure whether you have a Password/PIN, or if you've forgotten your Password/PIN, or if you need additional assistance
or information, send us an email (from your BGSU email address) at circdesk@bgsu.edu, or visit the circulation desk for assistance.
