Introduction
Jack H. Bailey is a fiction writer employed in the California aerospace industry. The literary manuscript and galley sheets for Icarus Complex form the core of the collection.
Bailey transferred this manuscript to the Popular Culture Library, Bowling Green State University. The collection is open for research, but the photocopying of manuscripts must comply with applicable copyright laws. This register was compiled by Nancy White Lee, Popular Culture Library Associate II, in June 1986, and updated in August 2009 by Patricia Falk.
Biographical Sketch
Jack H. Bailey is from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He served in the United States Navy for six years. In 1947 he sold a five minute radio script for five dollars.
Bailey attended Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. In 1950, he moved to Los Angeles, California, to attend a now-defunct writer's school in Hollywood. He enrolled at the University of Southern California receiving a B.A. degree in English in 1953. Also in 1953, he married Wanda, a fellow student majoring in geology. They have a son and daughter. He is currently employed in the aerospace industry.
Jack H. Bailey has also written The Number Two Man, published by McKay.
