Romance Manuscript Collections
The Library has manuscript collections containing correspondence, fan mail, literary manuscripts, and galley sheets from many prominent romance writers, including Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Cathie Linz, and April Kihlstrom. (See below for links to available finding aids for some collections.) The Browne Popular Culture Library also houses the archives of the Romance Writers of America, the world's largest non-profit genre organization.

PCL MS-217 Nancy J. Cohen Collection
1994-2009
The Nancy J. Cohen Collection is comprised of six cubic feet of correspondence, manuscripts, book publicity, articles and conference programs from 1994 to 2009. The manuscripts form the nucleus of the collection and include futuristic romance titles written by Cohen as author Nancy Cane and mysteries created for her Bad Hair Day Series.

PCL MS-2 Dorothy Daniels Collection
The Dorothy Daniels Collection houses 110 manuscripts of 56 books, 28 synopses, 16 sets of galley sheets and 127 books.

Norman Daniels is an author who has worked in several genres of popular fiction. Literary manuscripts, television and radio scripts, and printed stories form the core of the collection.

Florence Hershman is an author of the romance genre. The literary manuscript for The Moreland Legacy is the core of the collection. She writes under the pseudonyms, Diana Haviland and Diana Browning.

1982-present
Susan Elizabeth Phillips is a contemporary American author of romance novels beginning with The Copeland Bride in 1982 and followed up to present by numerous award winning books. Her collection is comprised of 10 cubic feet of manuscript drafts, edited copies, galleys, research notes, publicity materials and some fan mail and miscellaneous correspondence mostly pertaining to manuscript editing.
PCL MS-5 Willo Davis Roberts Collection
Roberts was a writer of mystery, suspense, gothic, historical and juvenile novels. Literary manuscripts and galley sheets from seven of her works form the core of this collection.

The Chelsea Quinn Yarbro Collection is comprised of 17 cubic feet of manuscripts and correspondence from 1978-1999. The manuscripts include primarily historic and contemporary horror novels and some western, science fiction, and romantic suspense.
