Mission
The Library Instruction (LI) Program promotes information literacy for all
members of the BGSU community. Supporting BGSU's and UL's missions, instruction
librarians and staff work to
promote independent, critical thinkers;
teach the BGSU community to use all UL resources and services, regardless
of format or location;
teach users to identify and locate information that meets their needs,
evaluate print and electronic resources, and use information appropriately
by crediting sources.
The LI program participates in a regular assessment plan and, as part of
an academic unit, is subject to program review. As a result, the LI program
changes to meet the needs of the BGSU community, embracing advances in technology,
revisions in the BGSU curriculum, and changes in OhioLINK.
