About the Web Site
This web tutorial is designed for students enrolled in EDFI 408 from Bowling Green State University, and students enrolled in collegiate Education programs throughout the state of Ohio. This site covers information literacy skills, including APA citation and documentation, using ERIC and Education Research Complete, and finding education-related audio, video, and statistical sources.
After going through each of the modules, users will be able to:
- Differentiate between academic and non-academic sources, and learn to avoid general search engines such as "Google" in conducting academic, professional research.
- Learn effective search strategies, applicable to university online catalogs, and education-related academic databases.
- Select appropriate databases and resources for education-related topics and issues.
- Locate and make effective use of scholarly book and journal articles
- Properly cite and document a variety of sources using the APA style.
System Requirements
- This site is best viewed on 1200 x 800 screens, and computers with relatively fast connection speeds.
- This site is compatible with these browsers: IE 4+, Netscape 5+, Firefox 1.0+, Safari, and Opera.
