Content Description:  A reproduction of Russkii Biograficheskii Slovar, published in 25 volumes by the Imperial Russian Historical Society. This publication includes biographies of Russians and important non-Russians who worked in Russia from early history to the end of the 19th century. The set was originally intended to include over 50,000 entries, but the volumes for the last few letters of the Russian alphabet were either not completed or not published.
