The Farm Credit Administration is responsible for the regulation and examination of banks and associations in the Farm Credit
System. It conducts examinations of Farm Credit Lending institutions so as to ensure safe and sound banking practices.
The Farm Credit System is a nationwide financial cooperative created by Congress in 1916 to provide credit to American farmers
and farm suppliers.

Farmer Mac
The Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corporation, commonly called Farmer Mac, was created by the Agricultural Credit Act of 1987. It is a publicly traded corporation regulated by the FCA. Farmer Mac
promotes a secondary market for agricultural real estate and rural housing mortgage loans by purchasing loans from lenders
and uses the proceeds to sell securities.
