Welcome to the Yukon Trail! This WebQuest will take you on a journey through Alaska and parts of Canada on the Yukon trail as described by Will Hobbs in Down the Yukon. During your journey down the Yukon you will need to complete several activities to make it to the klondike Gold Rush where you will hopefully discover GOLD! These activities will include the exporation of several websites and writing a letter to a friend about your adventure down the Yukon. Before you begin, click on the following link to find out more about Will Hobbs and his book Down the Yukon. |

First, you will need to read Down the Yukon and then complete the steps below to enter into your journey down the Yukon trail. Your journey will include visiting several websites related to the Yukon trail. Exploring these websites will help you with the final activity.It is important to take notes as you visit the website. Using your notes and the information gathered from the websites you will write a letter describing what it was like to travel down the Yukon during the Klondike gold rush. This final activity will be graded based on the rubric found in the evaluation section. Make sure to look at the rubric before you start the activity. Before you begin your journey down the yukon make sure you have all of the supplies and proper clothing you will need. Check out this website to see an actual list of gear written by a yukon pioneer in 1897. are packed, get in your canoe and begin your journey down the Yukon.
