Teacher's Notes

During the writing phase of the short stories you could integrate some other type of lessons. For example, grammar would fit into the editing phase of writing. It is up to you to set the ideal or maximum length for students based on class size. If the facilities are available, have each student word process their story for better presentation. As you receive finished stories make a class set of copies to put into books for the students.

When all of the writing and compilation is complete, give each student their own copy of the book. You could have a class read-aloud day, a book signing party etc. Celebrate the accomplishments of the class in some way!
