Language Arts

  • The students will identify and explain the various types of characters and how their interactions and conflict affect the plot.

  • Answer literal, inferential, evaluative, and synthesizing questions to demonstrate comprehension on grade-appropriate print texts and electronic and visual media.

  • Identify an author's argument or viewpoint and assess the adequacy and accuracy of details used.

  • Write narratives that maintain a clear focus and point of view and use sensory details and dialogue to develop plot, characters, and a specific setting.

  • Produce informal writings (e.g. journals) for various purposes.

  • Deliver formal and informal descriptive presentations that convey relevant information and descriptive details.
