 | The Stroh Center will be a state-of-the-art venue for concerts, commencement, lectures, and numerous campus and community events, and serve as the home for the Falcon men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball programs. The facility will include locker rooms, meeting rooms, and coaching staff offices for the teams, the BGSU Athletics Hall of Fame, a merchandise store, ticket office, and lounge. | be “the most environmentally friendly building on campus,” according to President Carol Cartwright. “The building is being designed to meet specifications for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, certification—one of the most prestigious and recognized ratings for ‘green’ buildings in the world.” Expected to cost $36 million, paid for primarily with bonded debt, some $14 million will come from private sources. Students have voted to increase fees to help pay for the building. The building is under construction on campus near I-75 and Wooster Street, and is scheduled to open in time for the 2011-12 season. | |
