BGSU Historic Campus Tour
Aerial Views - 1960-1970 Campus View, ca. 1965
Select a Tour | Select an Aerial Tour | Select a Building

Date: About 1965
View: Looking east from Main, along Wooster
Special Features: By mid-decade, the building boom was in full swing and showed no signs of slowing down. Harshman Quadrangle is complete at the top right corner of the campus. The Commons, a two-story brick building to the left of Kohl Hall replaced a World War II-era mess hall long used by the university, was constructed in 1963. New city construction in the form of houses and apartment buildings appears all around the campus. The view is almost more interesting for what is not yet in place: Jerome Library, much of the science complex around Overman Hall, Perry Stadium, and the Ice Arena
