Date: Before 1938
View: Looking WSW from above the Men's Gymnasium, central campus
Special Features: An excellent view of the city of Bowling Green, south of Wooster Street. Suburban-style homes are appearing among the older farm-style houses as the city grows out to surround the campus. Urschel Pond is visible at the left of this view, with a small grove of trees to the east. The pond was formed when a quarry filled with water. Not long after this photograph was taken, a windmill was built to disguise a pumping station at the site. For many years, the pond was used by students for recreational swimming and parties.
