BGSU benefited from the post-World War II boom. Undergraduate enrollment expanded and new graduate programs were developed. Gradually, the barracks-style buildings and trailer houses of the war era were replaced by permanent structures supporting programs in Psychology, Sociology, Speech, Music, and Home Economics. Residence Halls like McDonald and Founders were established. The old Falcon's Nest was replaced by a new Student Union and Prout Chapel served the needs of many student groups.
