Throughout much of the early history of Bowling Green State University, the administration paid little attention to alumni
of the university. As the number of alumni grew dramatically throughout the 50s and 60s, however, greater attention focused
on the vital part alumni could continue to play at the university. Thus, in 1972, the university Board of Trustees approved
construction of a building that

| would be the focus of alumni activities on-campus replacing the small wooden house on Wooster Street previously used for that
purpose. Since its construction, the Alumni Center has been the epicenter of Alumni activity on-campus as well as a place
for special university events and programs. Currently, there exists an audio-visual area, a library featuring alumnus literary
works, boardrooms, conference rooms, a multi-purpose room, and a display area filled with alumnus artwork. Moreover, the offices
of the Office of Alumni Affairs, Office of Development, BGSU Foundation, the Vice-President for University Advancement, and
the offices of the Alumni Association and University Ambassadors.
