400 E. Poe Rd.

Constructed in 1981 by the State of Ohio, this building was used for twenty-two years by the Department of Job and Family Services. This office served those filing unemployment claims, and provided access to a variety of resources, and assistance in finding employment. On March 14, 2003 the state closed the office and allowed the Wood County Department of Job and Family Services to move in. The building then served as a telephone registry for unemployment compensation. In September 2005 the BGSU Board of Trustees passed a resolution to purchase the building on Poe Road. The university originally intended to use the building as office space because of its off-campus location. However, as the Architecture Studies program grew and became independent from the College of Technology, the department needed more space. The building opened in 2008 as the Architecture Studies Building.
