Ervin J. Kreischer
Ervin J. Kreischer was a member of the Class of 1930. His university service began in 1935 when he became a critic teacher. Soon, he became the university's business manager, and then Vice President of Finance, and was named Treasurer Emeritus. Kreischer was instrumental in establishing the Bowling Green University Housing Commission, which is credited with saving hundreds of thousands of dollars for BGSU by purchasing properties for campus expansions when they were available, avoiding legal disputes with neighbors of the campus, and acquiring hundreds of acres for the university. Mr. Kreischer, working with former state senator Fred L. Adams, also sought and gained legal permission to use open market bond sales to finance construction of dormitories and other non-academic facilities on campus. He retired in 1965.
Kreischer Quadrangle was named in his honor in 1967.
