Men's Basketball Coach
W. Harold Anderson (1902-1967) coached the Bowling Green Basketball team for 21 years, leading the Falcons to a record of 362 wins and 185 losses. Known as “Andy” at BGSU, Coach Anderson brought national acclaim to the university’s basketball program and also served as the school’s athletic director. During his coaching career at BGSU, the Falcons were MAC champions 3 times, went to six NIT tournaments, and three NCAA tournaments. Over the course of his 31 years of college coaching, he was one of the first coaches to record over 500 wins. Anderson was inducted in the National Basketball Hall of Fame in 1985. Anderson Basketball Arena in Memorial Hall is named in his honor.
