Center for Archival Collections
Since 1975 the Center for Archival Collections has microfilmed many of its endangered and deteriorating collections. Through its archival microfilming services, the CAC continues to microfilm newspapers, local government records, and manuscript collections on a regular basis. The laboratory also extends its programming to the public, local government agencies, historical organizations, and libraries on a contract basis. Examples of microfilming services are illustrated in the Archival Chronicle .
To contact the Preservation Laboratory for information about contracting for microfilming, or to purchase microfilm, telephone +1-419-874-4128 or +1-419-372-5763 or e-mail, Kathy Gardner, Micrographics Specialist, at the CAC.
Paper conservation services include the repair, washing, deacidification, and encapsulation of paper documents. Custom-made encasing boxes and other archival enclosures are available. In order to discuss treatment options and provide accurate estimates, the conservator must see the item in person. Please call for an appointment +1-419-874-4128 or +1-419-372-5764 or contact Eric Honneffer, Conservator. All estimates are based on an hourly rate of $75.00 and current materials costs. Examples of document conservation work are illustrated in the Archival Chronicle .
