Dear Sir, I have been very unwell for some over a week, dont feel able hardly to go to Cincinnati this week, and thought I would drop you a line & say, that perhaps you has better send the map up with Mr. S.S. L'Homedieu when he come the last of this week, as I understand him and Mr. Beckett are to be on Friday next - and I can acknowledge the plat & c. and will take it over to Napoleon and have it printed up at once a no[number] of Parties are anxiouse to buy lots but are waiting for deeds.
Parties are here to day enquiring the price of lots No. 60, 61, 62 & 63. The prices of lots ought to be more fully fixed - and things put in shape - I was very sory that I did not see Mr. Beckett when he was up last week but did not. If this matter of acknowledging & c. cant be got along with without my coming down I will try and come the last of the week.

I have some inqury for Lots. I think I can sell out lots No. 8 and out lot 12 or 17 or 11 at $400 each on same terms of sale - which is your price - I wish you would give me some instructions in regard to price of Lots so I will know how to answer people. I dont know but I could put $400 all down for No 8, but dont know certain. I think this a very fair price these hard times. Through a lumber & shingle trade I can close up the contracts with S. Sherman, A Hastler & E. Baldwin if you will accept an order on the R.R. Co. for about $295 - money due me for wood.
I have out considerable wood not estimated and very near dry - and by the way if you folks have any favors to confer on any place in regard to taking up wood I wish you would look after Deshler.
I can get out considerable wood on the track if I have any assurance that the Co. will take up and pay for by April 1 - 74. What can you say in regard to this please answer in regard to lots soon as possible as parties are waiting.
Those deeds of Myrice & Baughman came all right

My man who wanted out Lot No. 11 came down on Saturday, and seemed very much disapponted that he did not get the lot or 1/2 of it. He finally concluded to take 14 - but would not give but 500 for the whole lot. There being only 3 acres and a small fraction. I thought perhaps it was a very fair offer - and as he wish to know immediately I telegraphed you. Mr. White wishes his deeds for what he purchased, saying the mony was ready. If you can do so, I wish you would send up my acct of wood. We are extremely hard up. I have been carrying a good many through this tight time and the roads have been so bad that they have not been able to get anything to market this winter to amount to anything.
Hoping to hear from you in regard to our Grist Mill man. I am Respectfully

Dear Sir, I enclose to you a subscribtion for a church building in this Place. We would like to put up a good building, one that would cost from 2 to 3 thousand dollars and if all hands interested in the building up of the town will only give liberally we can do it. I have sent on paper to Columbus, and on to Wm. Beckett of Hamilton. These subscriptions will not be called upon before some time in the spring, but we want to get everything ready, so we can commence them and go right along. I think a thousand can be raised here without doubt. Please to give this enterprise your hearty support and circulate it around among the members of the association and get all the aid you can. We expect some litte aid from the association to support preaching here this year, and perhaps by an other year it will support itself 75 or 100 would not come amiss and would not be felt by the members of the association. Hoping you will give this matter your earnest attention, and will do all you can in way of aid, yourself, and soliciting others to do something. I remain yours
