Introduction

The records of Libbey - Owens - Ford Glass Company, Toledo, Ohio, were transferred for microfilming to the Center for Archival Collections, Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio 43403, in August 2003, with the cooperation of Barbara Floyd of The Ward M. Canaday Center for Special Collections, University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio.

The Finding Aid, the Historical Sketch, and the Scope and Content have all been prepared by The Ward M. Canaday Center for Special Collections, University of Toledo. These targets are intended for the entire Libbey - Owens - Ford Glass Company Collection, but only the volumes shown on the Order of Microfilm have been filmed. Please note that the entire collection has not been microfilmed. The Title Target, Note to Researcher, Certificate of Authenticity, Introduction, Order of Microfilm and the Pre-Microfilm Inventory sheets have been prepared by the Center for Archival Collections, Bowling Green State University.

The filming of these record books have been filmed in the order requested by The Ward M. Canaday Center for Special Collections, University of Toledo. The order is shown on the Order of Microfilm. The record books have been organized by company name and then placed in chronological order within each company. The record books primarily contain Articles of Incorporation and meeting minutes.

This collection has been assigned two different manuscript numbers. The entire Libbey - Owens - Ford Glass Company Collection, as found at The Ward M. Canaday Center for Special Collections, University of Toledo, has the number MSS - 066. This microfilm edition, found at the Center for Archival Collections, Bowling Green State University, has been assigned the number MS - 985.
