Introduction
The records of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 1942 - 2001, were transferred for microfilming to the Center for Archival
Collections, Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio 43403, in September 2001, with the cooperation of Father
Joseph P. Szybka of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
The collection consists of baptisms*, first communions, confirmations, marriages*, and deaths. Due to inconsistencies in pagination and transcription of data, researchers are encouraged to refer to all volumes
within each series. (See order of microfilming for a detailed list of these records.) There are records of Sts. Peter and
Paul, Attica present in several books located at St. Stephen Catholic Church, St. Stephen, Ohio. The manuscript number for
St. Stephen Catholic Church is MS 901. Located at St. Stephen are baptisms from 1894 - 1898, found in the baptismal book dated
1844 - 1914. There are also records for this parish found in the 1914 - 1957 record book for St. Stephen Catholic Church.
This register and this collection was prepared by Jennifer Golis in September 2001.

Agency History
Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church began as a Mission of Shelby in 1882. Their first church was built in 1882 as well. Between
1894 through 1951, Sts. Peter and Paul parish was a Mission of St. Stephen Catholic Church. In 1951, the parish received its
first resident pastor. In 1968, the parish built its current church. Since the mid-1980's, Sts. Peter and Paul has been a
sister parishes of St. Stephen Catholic Church, St. Stephen, and St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Republic.
