Introduction
The records of the Oakdale United Methodist Church, Deshler, Ohio, were transferred to the Center for Archival Collections
for microfilming, on September 13, 1989, with the cooperation of Lucille Van Scoyoc. The collection consists of two Church
Record Books, dating from 1854-1989, which include lists of members, officers, baptisms, marriages and funerals; one Membership
Roll Book, dating from 1937-1938; one Scrapbook, dating from 1939-1989, which includes clippings, programs and photographs
documenting activities within the Church; two printed church histories written in 1983 and 1989; one volume of Trustees minutes,
dating from 1930-1953; and ten volumes of minutes from the women's association (name changes documented within these minutes
are Ladies Aid, Women's Missionary Association, Women's Society of World Service, Women's Society of Christian Service, United
Methodist Women), dating from 1900-1976.
No restrictions exist on the research use of this microfilm edition. The finding aid was prepared by Ann Bowers in September
1989.
