Introduction
The records of the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Galion, Ohio, were transferred to the Center for Archival Collections
for microfilming on September 16, 1988, with the assistance of Ruth Ulmer. The collection consists of three record books,
dating from 1846 to 1924, which include the church constitutions; list of members; baptismal, communion, marriage and funeral
records; and, some financial information. Also included are transcriptions and indexes for the first two record books which
were compiled by Ruth Ulmer. The transcriptions and indexes are extremely valuable as the record books are written in German.
No restrictions exist on the use of this microfilm edition and duplication is permitted for research purposes. The finding
aid was compiled by Ann Bowers in September 1988.
