Introduction | Order of Microfilming
The records from the First United Church of Christ, Canton, Ohio were transferred for microfilming to the Center for Archival Collections, Bowling Green State University, on April 16, 1987, with the cooperation of G. S. Strauch. The collection consists of three record books, dating from 1824 to 1938, and documenting the membership activities of the church including baptisms, marriages, confirmations, and funerals. The collection also includes pastor's record books providing similar information as the Church record books for the time period 1836-1919. Completing the collection are two volumes of church minutes, dating from 1869-1917. The early records are written in German.
No restrictions exist on the research use of this collection. The collection was prepared for microfilming and the finding aid completed by Ann Bowers during April 1987.
