Introduction

The Shawnee United Methodist Church Records, Shawnee, Perry County, Ohio were transferred to the Center for Archival Collections, Bowling Green State University, with the cooperation of Lucy Seiler, Fayette, Ohio.

This collection consists of six (6) record books. The record books contain the Pastors, Members, Probationers, Baptisms, and Marriages. The Church history is only recorded in the 1874-1882, 1894-1902, and 1902-1921 record books.

The original church was part of the Straitsville Circuit, Lancaster District, Ohio Annual Conference. The Shawnee United Methodist Church was founded in 1875. The records date from 1874 to 1935.

This register was prepared in May 1998 by Molly Biddle. No restrictions apply to the use of this collection.
