Introduction

The Charles A. Hibbard Diaries were transferred to the Center for Archival Collections, Bowling Green State University, with the cooperation of Roger Frazier, of the Fulton County Historical Society in February 1998, with additional assistance of James B. Hoy, Gainesville, Florida.

This collection consists of two diaries written primarily during Hibbard's service with Company I, 67th OVI. The diaries begin at October 1862 and continue through February 1866. The diary for 1864 was missing at the time of filming. Hibbard mustered in at the age of 22 on August 20, 1862 for three years of service and mustered out on June 21, 1865.

This register was prepared in February 1998 by Molly Biddle. No restrictions apply to the use of this collection.
