Introduction
The records of the Peace United Church of Christ, Galion, Ohio, were transferred for microfilming to the Center for Archival
Collections, Bowling Green State University, in March 1984 with the cooperation of Mary Fox. The collection (1841-1969) consists
of three record books and a one-page church history. The three record books contain lists of communicants (1841-1967), baptisms
(1841-1966), marriages (1916-1966) and deaths (1869-1965). The first two volumes also contain the church constitution written
both in German and English. The second volume includes brief minutes of congregational meetings (1872-1888) and a name register
of those attending a homecoming celebration in 1923. Additionally, the second and third volumes include statistical reports
(1910-1914, 1917-1960) and the third volume includes a listing of pastors (1916-1966) and officers (1917-1969).
There are no restrictions on the research use of this collection. The finding aid was prepared by Susan Hagemeyer in April
1984.
