George Clemans Collection - MS 1151

The George B. Clemans Papers, a collection of research materials related to the history of the Chemistry Department at Bowling Green State University, were donated to the Center by George B. Clemans in January 2011. The materials were used in the production of Clemans’ book Chemistry 100: A Centennial History of the Chemistry Department at Bowling Green State University.
No restrictions exist on the use of the Papers for research purposes. Copyright has been withheld for two years. Permission to publish must be obtained from the author. The collection was processed by Keisha Hicks, a graduate student in History 6560 (Archives Administration) at Bowling Green State University, in May 2011.
Dr. George B. Clemans is a Professor Emeritus of Chemistry at Bowling Green State University and taught there from 1967 until 1998. He holds degrees from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and Duke University. He was a W.B. King Visiting Professor at Iowa State University. He also taught at the University of Arkansas and Duke University. Dr. Clemans resides in Bowling Green, Ohio.
The George B. Clemans Papers consist of research files and interviews assembled by the author in writing a history of the Chemistry Department at Bowling Green State University.
The research files contain historical documents related to the development BGSU and the Department. Reminiscences by faculty and staff provide a personal perspective.
