Captain John Ackerman
John Ackerman enlisted as a 23 year old Musician in Company I, 46th Ohio
Volunteer Infantry on January 4, 1862, mustering into service January 23, 1862.
He was promoted to Principal Musician to date February 4, 1862 and was later
commissioned First Lieutenant of Company I to date August 19, 1864. He was
promoted to Captain July 16, 1865 and mustered out July 22, 1865 at Louisville,
Kentucky.
