Second Lieutenant Jacob W. Parrot
Jacob W. Parrot was born July 17, 1843 in Fairfield Co., Ohio and enlisted in
Kenton, Ohio as a 19 year old Private in Company K, 33rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry
on November 18, 1861, mustering into service the same day. He took part in the
Andrews' Raid in Georgia in April 1862, and following several months of imprisonment
was exchanged and awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions. Commissioned Second
Lieutenant to date April 24, 1863, he was mustered out January 3, 1865 and died
December 22, 1908 in Kenton, Ohio.
