Colonel Jonas Schoonover
Jonas Schoonover enlisted as a 29 year old Captain in Company H, 29th Ohio
Volunteer Infantry on October 15, 1861, mustering into service December 20, 1861.
He served with the regiment throughout the war, being promoted successively to
Major (to date January 18, 1865), Lieutenant Colonel (to date January 28, 1865),
and finally Colonel (July 12, 1865), although he was never mustered at that rank.
He was mustered out July 13, 1865.
