Captain Luther B. Mesnard, Company B

Luther B. Mesnard was commissioned Captain of Company B, 25th Ohio Volunteer Infantry on March 17, 1864, mustering into service the same day. He was mustered out June 18, 1866 at Columbus, Ohio.

Sergeant Samuel A. Wildman, Company B

Samuel A. Wildman enlisted as an 18 year old Private in Company B, 25th Ohio Volunteer Infantry on February 24, 1864, mustering into service the same day. He was promoted to Corporal November 5, 1864 and to Sergeant January 25, 1866 before mustering out June 18, 1866 at Columbus, Ohio.

Roster - Company E, 25th OVI

Captain Moses H. Crowell

Moses H. Crowell enlisted as a 35 year old Captain in Company E, 25th Ohio Volunteer Infantry on June 4, 1861, mustering into service June 12, 1861. He resigned his commission June 1, 1863 at Brook's Station, Virginia. On March 16, 1864, he was commissioned Lieutenant Colonel of the 48th United States Colored Troops, a command which he held until mustered out January 4, 1866.

First Lieutenant Andrew Jackson Hale

Andrew Jackson Hale enlisted as a 33 year old Second Lieutenant into Company E, 25th Ohio Volunteer Infantry on June 4, 1861. He was quickly promoted to First Lieutenant with the position as regimental Quartermaster, serving in this capacity until he resigned his commission February 21, 1863.

Second Lieutenant George N. Holcomb

Enlisted 6/12/1861 as Sergeant; promoted to 1st Sgt. 3/7/1862; promoted to 2nd Lieutenant 4/1/1863; promoted to 1st Lieutenant 3/15/1864 of Co. G; promoted to Quartermaster 4/1/1864; promoted to Captain of Co. C, 8/11/1864; mustered out with regiment 6/18/1866 at Columbus, Ohio.

Captain David R. Hunt

David R. Hunt enlisted as a 21 year old Second Sergeant into Company E, 25th Ohio Volunteer Infantry on June 12, 1861. He was reduced to the ranks as Private on August 1, 1861, but was promoted again to Commissary Sergeant November 1, 1861. Following the Valley and Second Bull Run campaigns, as well as service near Fredericksburg, he was commissioned First Lieutenant and designated regimental Quartermaster. He served through Chancellorsville and Gettysburg before transferring to the Department of the South with the regiment. He was again promoted to Captain of Company F on March 15, 1864, serving in this capacity for most of the rest of conflict. He was detached from the regiment to serve as quartermaster, and was mustered out of service June 18, 1866 at Columbus, Ohio. He died November 25, 1903 in Elmore, Sandusky Co., Ohio.

Corporal George F. Alfred

George F. Alfred enlisted as a 25 year old Private in Co. E, 25th Ohio Volunteer Infantry on June 12, 1861, and served with the regiment through the hard fought campaigns of 1862, including the battles of McDowell and Second Bull Run. Promoted to Corporal April 3, 1863, he was killed in action May 2, 1863 at the Battle of Chancellorsville. He is buried at Fredericksburg National Cemetery.

Private Norton G. Skinner

Norton G. Skinner enlisted as a 37 year old Private in Co. E, 25th Ohio Volunteer Infantry on June 12, 1861, and served with the regiment through the hard fought campaigns of 1862. He was discharged for disability on December 18, 1862.

Corporal Andrew J. Ames

Andrew J. Ames enlisted as a 22 year old Private in Company G, 25th Ohio Volunteer Infantry on June 18, 1861, mustering into service the same day. Promoted to Corporal during his service, he was wounded May 2, 1863 at the Battle of Chancellorsville. He was mustered out July 16, 1864.

Erwin M. Bergstresser enlisted as a 22 year old Private in Company G, 25th Ohio Volunteer Infantry on June 18, 1861, mustering into service the same day. He was discharged April 16, 1863 at Columbus, Ohio.
